TIME is running out for aspiring arts students to apply for a grant from Broadway Arts Festival Trust.

Broadway Arts Festival have increased the value of their annual student arts grants to up to £1,000 each.

But students are warned the application deadline of October 12 is fast approaching.

The grants are available to local students starting or already in full time education in the arts.

These bursaries apply to students studying fine art, applied arts, music or the performing arts.

They are worth £500 to £1,000 plus, depending on the strength of the application, and are made annually in order to help students with course expenses and travel for their field of study.

Eight grants were awarded to students at the end of 2019 on a wide range of courses including music, architecture, stage and screen performance, art and design, music, film production and drama.

Jonathan Deakin, from Childswickham who is studying musical theatre at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London said: “I used the money from the grant to help pay for my equity and spotlight membership, help pay the fees of my to be agent, and the costs of my course."
