KEEP Bromsgrove Beautiful (KBB) are encouraging local residents, schools, organisations, clubs and businesses to join the national initiative to keep local areas clean and litter free.

The Great British September Clean (GBSC) takes place from this Friday (September 11) until September 27 and is organised by Keep Britain Tidy (KBT).

The aim of the GBSC is for communities to come together, clean up their local environment and have fun, whilst staying safe at all times.

The Covid-19 guidelines set out by KBT suggest litter picking alone or in household groups, or working in pairs or small groups (maximum six people).

The advice is to use your own equipment where possible and if equipment is borrowed it should be sanitised before and after use.

During the September clean Bromsgrove residents are encouraged to clean up their local area and record their activity online via the KBB Litter Log www.tinyurl.com/KBBLitterLog

Keep Bromsgrove Beautiful founder and chair Sarah Milburn said: "The group is really keen to get back to litter picking and keeping our local areas looking great!

"The national initiative will help to raise awareness of the litter problem and we hope to see a change in behaviour. KBB encourage everyone to get involved and make a difference."

Keep an eye on www.facebook.com/groups/KeepBromsgroveBeautiful for updates and to share your clean up activities during the Great British September Clean.
