Halesowen College’s new nursery manager Jemma Llewellyn will be developing its outdoor play area in her new role.

Jemma will be working with the team to promote real life experiences for the children and give them rich and exciting opportunities to learn through play.

She also wants to develop the outdoor play area more and build on the facilities they already have like a small farm, nature trail, den making and exploring wildlife and plants.

Jemma, aged 33, said: “This is very exciting time for the nursery and I am looking forward to working with our strong team to further enhance the facilities we have and how our children learn and play.

“I am currently developing learning opportunities within the nursery through working in partnership with families. I strongly believe that the nursery should be an extension

of a child's home, as the best outcomes for children are achieved when they are happy, settled, and confident.”

The nursery has put in place several measures to ensure it is as safe as possible for children and staff during the Coronavirus pandemic.

They are closely following Government guidelines and have a thorough risk assessment in place including regular handwashing as well as cleaning all toys and surfaces regularly.

Jemma added: “Throughout this period, while there are a lot of changes and restrictions in place, we continue to prioritise the children's safety and well-being and ensure the nursery continues to provide fun and enjoyable experiences for all!”

The Nursery is currently open and taking bookings for September 2020.

Jemma lives in Wolverhampton.
