THE coronavirus outbreak at Rook Row Farm has come to an end, health officials say.

A total of 142 people who worked or had links to vegetable grower AS Green & Co have tested positive since the start of the outbreak.

However, there are now no active cases at the Mathon farm and health officers say their efforts to contain the virus have been successful.

Herefordshire public health director Karen Wright said: “After the last round of testing that was done, no further cases for identified.

“There are no active cases on the site and there are also no contacts self isolating.

“We do expect there to be more outbreaks in other settings and we are working with businesses to plan for preventing this from happening by implementing measures like getting early testing done in which the Greens did really well – they got the testing done quickly and credit to them for doing that.

“It was incredibly unusual for there to have been so many asymptomatic people based on what we know of the virus.

“We are learning all the time and it’s a good reminder for everyone to wash their hands, appropriate use of face covering and social distancing.”
