AN art exhibition is set to get underway amid the pandemic, bringing together for the first time the work of two internationally renowned artists from the region.

The event - known as Paint and Form - will show the work Antony Bridge and Ed Elliott.

The team at Elmslie House are making plans for all contingencies, with an online catalogue being created and plans being put in place for visitors to be able to enjoy the works of art while also observing social distancing.

Anna Taylor, owner of the venue, said: “Despite lockdown restrictions, our small team has been working from home to make sure we can open again as soon as possible - be it in person or virtually.

“The creative community as a whole has been amazingly supportive since the start of lockdown, with artists coming together to create online sales and exhibitions.

“Elmslie’s ethos has always been about supporting and promoting artists and craftspeople and this is more important now than ever.”

With Elmslie House having been closed for the duration of lockdown, Paint and Form will be the first event to be held at the house since March.

Antony, who specialises in plein air painting, takes inspiration from the peace, power and solitude of the landscape and will be exhibiting his popular style of paintings featuring local scenes.

Ed, who is a renowned sculptor, will be showing his striking and thought-provoking creations including his most recent ‘lockdown works’ alongside a series of smaller, limited edition bronzes and his globally collected ‘Angel series’.
