A MAN has been taken to hospital after a three-car crash on the A456 at Long Bank, near Bewdley.

An ambulance was called to the scene of the crash, which is reported to have taken place close to the entrance to Callow Hill just before midday.

The road was closed in both directions for a short time while emergency services were at the scene.

Go Ape Wyre Forest posted on Facebook shortly after the collision to say there was no access to the forest due to a "major road traffic accident".

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 11.57am to reports of a three-vehicle RTC on the Long Bank A456.

"We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene and treated one patient - the driver of one of the vehicles - a man, who was treated for injuries that are not believed to be serious.

"He was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment."
