HEREFORD FC have warned fans that it is likely that ground capacities will be ‘significantly reduced from normal levels’ when action begins on October 3.

Last night the National League stated that action would commence for National League North sides with an FA Cup tie on October 3.

The club state that the National League will issue protocols containing guidance under the following headings:

Stage 1 Return to Training

Stage 2 Return to Training, Close Contact

Stage 3 Return to Competition, No Spectators

Stage 5 Return to Competition, Safe Return of Spectators

A statement from Hereford FC said: “As it stands, The National League is advising clubs to wait to receive and to meet the stage one and two protocols before physically returning to training, and only to proceed with friendly matches once stage three has been implemented.

“Hereford FC will continue to seek clarity on the situation and monitor the advice as it is received to ensure there is minimal disruption to supporters and all possible safety precautions taken, before any decisions can be finalised.

“In terms of crowd numbers under Stage 5, it is likely, as suspected, that ground capacities will be significantly reduced from normal levels.

“The ‘socially distanced’ capacity for Edgar Street stadium will need to be continually assessed in compliance with government guidance and in conjunction with Herefordshire Council.

“The FA imposed Covid-19 restrictions will mean an innovative approach to season ticket and seat allocations!

“The HFC board are committed to ensuring as many fans as possible get to see matches at Edgar Street, which will mean your regular seat and block may not be available, in the short term, whilst under reduced capacity restrictions.”
