BURY band Elbow has donated a limited edition signed 'The Best Of' print to raise crucial funds to protect children in war zones.

The rock band have joined other stars including Ed Sheeran, Liam Gallagher and the 1975 in donating or auctioning off goods.

The money goes directly to charity War Child's funds to protect vulnerable children facing Coronavirus in war-torn areas of the world.

War Child say that their aim is "to reach children as early as possible when conflict breaks out, and stay on to support them—long after the TV cameras have gone home."

Regarding the pandemic, the charity called the virus "as deadly as war" as they launched the fundraiser to seek emergency funding.

They added: "Coronavirus is more than a health crisis. For vulnerable children already living in some of the most difficult and dangerous circumstances in the world, the impact could be devastating.

"Many families in conflict zones now in lockdown have lost their incomes overnight, pushing them further into poverty and leaving them at risk of starvation.

"Our supporters and friends across the arts and creative industries have gifted us designs, items and experiences to our Crowdfunder appeal.

"So not only do you get the chance to buy something truly unique, but the money you donate means War Child will be able to help more children."

Some of the lots being auctioned off include a private video call with Louis Tomlinson, a drum lesson with Woody from Bastille and an Emilia Clarke signed Game of Thrones book.
