FIREFIGHTERS from Herefordshire worked into the night to battle a large field fire just over the border in Worcestershire alongside colleagues from neighbouring areas.
Crews from Leominster, Tenbury Wells, the Wyre Forest, and Malvern were called to the deep-seated field fire at Frith Common yesterday.
Crews worked until the early hours of the morning to tackle the flames, using main jets and supplied with water by Leominster's water carrier.
They returned to the scene at 9am this morning, where a reinspection found a number of hotspots.
Firefighters remain on scene to damp down.
