A ROAD in Church Stretton is closed after a car ended up down an embankment.

The air ambulance landed at the scene, with the fire service and police also in attendance.

A man was treated by paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service, but his condition is not yet known.

A spokesperson for the service said: "We were called by West Mercia Police at 12.19pm to the B4371 to reports of a car which had ended up down an embankment.

"We sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a doctor on board to the scene.

"We treated one man, the driver of the car. He was taken by land ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with potentially serious injuries."
