SADNESS has been expressed by many people at the death of Ludlow market trader Roger Farmer.

Mr Farmer was well known for his market stall that he ran with his brother Robin.

The popular fruit, vegetable, plant and flower stall was started by their parents 54 years ago.

Mr Farmer, who had suffered from bowel cancer for two years died on Monday, May 11.

“He was the most popular man on the market along with his brother Rob, they were Ludlow Market,” said Ludlow resident Juliet Diamond.

“Roger was a truly lovely man as is Rob,

“I’ve been constantly telling them that they’re the two most loved people in Ludlow.

“When John smashed his leg that icy, snowy Christmas, they looked after our ponies.

“Sometime later, when Rog knew we had a problem in finding someone to look after them, when we were unable, he volunteered and then insisted to do it, despite my protestations that he was far too busy.

“He was incredibly kind and generous and will be greatly missed.”
