A DRIVER caught belting along the Dorset Way in Poole at 82 miles per hour was three-and-a-half times the drug drive limit, a court heard this week.
Luke Ben Patrick Foley, of Guildhall Road in Bournemouth, was caught driving a Ford Fiesta at 32mph over the 50mph speed limit on August 19 last year.
Police carrying out speed checks on the bypass stopped his car at 10.20pm.
The officers later discovered the 27-year-old also had seven micrograms of THC, the primary psychoactive ingredient in cannabis, per litre of blood. The limit is two.
Foley appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on Tuesday to admit drug driving, speeding, possessing cocaine and possessing cannabis.
He was fined a total of £290 for the offences and ordered to pay a £32 surcharge and £85 costs.
In addition, the defendant was banned from the roads for 12 months.
