IN response to criticism about a lack of action on the town walls, Ludlow Town Council has defended the time that it has taken.
Critics of the delay include Shropshire Councillor Andy Boddington and Tony Mahalski, who stepped down from the Town Council earlier this year.
The Council says that it has been agreed they the authority will take the lead but would be working together with Shropshire Council and the St Laurence Parochial Church Council. Ludlow Town Council has also been consulting with Historic England and the Town Walls Trust.
When the amount of work that is needed has been determined the job will be to come up with the funding that will run into millions.
The walls are protected so there will be strict rules as to how the work is done and what materials are used.
