STUCK for ideas of how to keep everyone entertained this Half Term?

Bournemouth Tourism have compiled a list of 15 things all members of the family can enjoy on a budget.

1. Crabbing at Mudeford Quay

No matter the weather, crabbing at Mudeford Quay makes for the perfect family day out.

Wrap up warm and prepare for a fun, if slightly snappy, afternoon.

2. Poole Park

An ideal location to enjoy a picnic of your favourite snacks and view the wildlife in the Park.

Relax on a bench and watch the world go by.

3. Upton Country Park

Upton’s activity area hosts animal and craft sessions on February 17 and 19 for the more inquisitive visitors.

Make sure to visit the recently developed (and free) adventure play area too.

4. Hengistbury Head and Information Centre

Hengistbury Head is the perfect location to soak up the breathtaking views of Bournemouth and Poole in one direction and Christchurch and Mudeford in the other.

5. Light Up Poole

Light Up Poole, the dazzling digital art festival, enters its third year and the array of illuminations promises to fascinate all members of the family with its spectacle of light.

6. Brownsea Island

The island will be open for the duration of half term, offering visitors a chance to explore the new natural play area and learn all about the history of Scouting and Guiding.

7. Selfie Wall Trail

If you or a family member are a lover of snapping cute pictures, this trail is perfect for you.

This trail will test your knowledge of Bournemouth and Poole as this ten-mile long selfie-wall trail will take you from Sandbanks to Southbourne.

It remains a fun part of the seafront’s appeal.

8. Park Run

Shrug off your comfies and challenge yourself with a park run.

Taking place at 9am on a Saturday morning at Kings Park in Bournemouth, Poole Park and Upton Country Park, this is the best opportunity to blow away those cobwebs and liven up your weekend.

9. Christchurch Quay and High Street

Christchurch is a truly beautiful and tranquil place to spend some time ambling with the kids.

Numerous coffee shops dotted along the high street present a lovely opportunity to warm-up over a hot chocolate and a slice of cake.

10. Moors Valley Country Park and Forest

For those who want to remain active throughout the week, Moors Valley includes some fantastic options to immerse yourself in the great outdoors.

Run England’s designated trails are perfect for youngsters and parents who want to squeeze some running into their half-term plans.

11. Highcliffe Castle

With four hours of parking costing less than two Freddos, the surrounding nature reserve and gorgeous sandy beaches are a must for your half term plans.

There are also a number of family friendly cafés at Steamer Point.

12. Kingfisher/Stour Valley

Ideal for families based closer to Muscliff and the north of Bournemouth, this hidden gem is a great way to get outdoors, explore the diverse local woodland and discover the hidden nature within.

13. Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum and Poole Museum & Scaplen's Court

Unleash your creative juices this half term with art and craft sessions.

Russell-Cotes Gallery and Museum hosts an arts session for just £4 per child while at Poole Museum youngsters can make their own shadow puppets.

14. Upside Gallery

This is a unique addition to your half-term bucket list.

A flyover might seem an odd choice of location, but the Upside Gallery has transformed the Wessex Way pillars into art installations.

This offers you a great opportunity to appreciate a different form of art.

15. Two Riversmeet Skate park/BMX Track

Fuel your adrenalin craving at this family friendly skate park.

Grab your bike, board or scooter and show off your best tricks - and burn off some energy.
