TIM Gill, Mayor of Ludlow, is having to cut back on his mayoral duties for a time because of the illness of his wife Mary.

Mrs Gill became ill at the end of 2018 and Colin Seward, the then deputy mayor, took on some of his duties.

Robin Pote, who is now deputy mayor, is taking on some of responsibilities.

Mrs Gill was able to attend the mayor making with Mr Gill last year, and the couple were accompanied by their two daughters, one of whom had returned from Australia.

Mrs Gill was admitted into hospital in the middle or January after having been given the all-clear for skin cancer.

“Mary is back in hospital,” said Mr Gill.

“She has a brain tumour and a suspected kidney tumour.

“The irony is she had the seizure in the evening of the day when she was given the all-clear about the skin cancer.

“Life is a bit hectic at the moment.

“However, if you were to meet her you wouldn’t see anything different.

“So life is a bit of a bugger at the moment.”
