A SCHOOL is recycling unwanted cables to raise money for some new playground features.
Fladbury C Of E First School and Pre School is taking part in the Great Cable Challenge to raise money for some funky markings on the playground and some other fun things for the school.
Carly Wickens who is on the PTA said: "Usually little village schools are lower funded than bigger schools. The PTA has raised money for things like pantomime trips and interactive white boards."
Anyone with any old cables such a phone charger cables, TV cables or computer cables can contact the school and Ms Wickens will collect them. Computer companies have also got involved.
These cables usually end up in landfill but the school's PTA members are taking them to a recycling centre where the plastic is stripped off and the metal is recycled. The school will get money for the usable material.
