BOATING could be returning to a popular beauty spot in Ludlow.

The re-introduction of boating at the Linney Riverside Park is just one of the schemes that will be looked at by Ludlow Town Council.

If this happens it will mark the return of a recreational activity that was stopped a long time ago.

This would be part of a project that is also likely to include the improvements of buildings at the Linney.

The area next to the river is popular throughout the year with families and visitors.

It has an award-winning cafe and an area in which children can play.

People at the riverside park will also take the opportunity to go for a paddle in the river to cool off during hot weather and is often packed with people during high summer.

The area is also a popular stop off point for people on walking trips.

Many years ago, there was a swimming pool at the Linney that was well used by locals.

The area is also a haven for birds, wildfowl and other wildlife. It is also a place to fish.
