DOORS on advent calendars throughout Tenbury are now being opened with anticipation on the countdown to Christmas, and the Worcestershire 1000 has added another calendar to keep an eye on this December.

The advent calendar provides the ideal opportunity to review how the Worcestershire 1000 network has continued to grow since it launched in May 2019 to support the promotion of Worcestershire regionally, nationally and internationally.

Tenbury and the Teme Valley are examples of some of the great things that go on in the county.

Based just outside Tenbury in Burford is the United Kingdom headquarters of Orchard Valley Foods.

From modest beginnings Orchard Valley Foods has grown to be a global business selling baking ingredients across the world including as far away as Australia.

It is now part of a larger European based business but has become one of the largest employers in the area and remains committed to Tenbury.

The company holds a Queen’s Award for its services to exporting.

This year Mike Forrester, one of the founders of the business and most recently the director responsible for Business Development retired.

Tenbury continues to be a national capital for the sale of mistletoe and the annual sales have just finished.

The town also hosts the annual Tenbury Show in the summer as it has for more than 100 years.

“The Worcestershire Advent Calendar provides a fantastic opportunity to view the progress of the Worcestershire 1000 since its launch and also, learn more about the superb county,” said Richard Soper, former Chief Executive Officer of Worcester Bosch and Worcestershire Champion.

Behind each door is a surprise, including information about the Worcestershire initiative, facts about the county and how to become a member of the Worcestershire 1000, the fastest growing network in the county.

The calendar also reviews the highlights of the #MoreinWorcestershire campaign which ended in November with the spectacular illumination of the iconic Broadway Tower and shares videos and images of the Worcestershire approach’s activity over 2019.

There is a door for every day of December until Christmas Eve, where a special surprise can be found!
