  • ROLLING MATCH REPORT
  • Hereford made the trip to the outskirts of Manchester on Saturday, looking to continue to building on recent improvements.
  • The Bulls were unlucky not to win at home against Farsley Celtic last weekend, with a goal controversially ruled out before the visitors scored late on. Russell Slade's men then put in one of their best performances of the season to secure a point against York City on Tuesday evening at Edgar Street.
  • Within the first 90 seconds of the match Hereford had a good chance to put themselves ahead. A quick break down the right wing by Jared Hodgkiss saw him cross a good ball into the box, but Reece Styche's glancing header was wide of the target.
  • A chance for Jordan Nicholson followed, he was played through and was left with just the keeper left to beat, but his low driven effort was straight at Cameron Mason.
  • But at the other end of the pitch with four minutes on the clock Curzon took the lead.
  • Referee Adam Herczeg spots a handball in the Hereford box from captain Jared Hodgkiss and pointed straight to the spot. Up stepped Sean Miller who powerfully struck the ball high into the left hand corner of the net.
  • Hereford had two decent chances before the 25th minute to chances to pull themselves back level, but weren't able to capitalise. After Alex Bray won a free kick out wide on the left, Stephen Dawson's floated delivery was headed behind for a corner.
  • Moments later Danny Greenslade had a powerful drive from 25-yards blocked in a congested penalty area, before Reece Styche's follow up effort was parried by the keeper.
  • Not for the first time this season Hereford caused themselves problems as a defensive mix up led to the hosts doubling their advantage.
  • Against the run of play Charlie Jolley put pressure on the Bulls defence in the 27th minute and a mix up between Hodgkiss and Cullinane-Liburd saw Jolley came away with the ball. He then managed to get a shot away from an acute angle and fired past Brandon Hall.
  • It could've been 3-0 to the Nash two minutes from half time as a poor back pass falls short of goalkeeper Brandon Hall, but he manages to beat the onrushing attack to the ball.
  • The travelling Bulls faithful thought their side would be able to pull a goal back on the stroke of half time.
  • Alex Bray was upended on the edge of the 18-yard box after a good piece of play from Reece Styche which saw him thread the ball through to Bray.
  • But the free kick failed to test the keeper as the Gibraltar international shot failed to beat the wall.
  • Into the second half and Hereford continued to sit deep as Curzon looked the most likely of the two sides to score.
  • A good chance fell to Michael Calveley but Hall was able to tip his shot from 25-yards over the bar.
  • The resulting corner was initially punched clear by Hereford's keeper, before a follow up shot from Liam Davies was tame and collected by Hall.
  • Hereford made a double substitution to try and inject some more firepower into the side, and Tommy O'Sullivan was involved in the build up to a good chance in the 63rd minute.
  • As the ball was worked forward down the right, Peter Vincenti tried his luck with a long range volley which sailed wide at the far post.
  • As Hereford upped the tempo, Stephen Dawson was scythed down by Nicholas Wroe as he burst forward.
  • With Wroe in the referee's notebook, O'Sullivan delivered the resulting free kick deep in the box but as Vincenti tried to turn the ball towards goal, it was pushed wide by the goalkeeper for a fruitless corner.
  • Kelsey Mooney, who had come off the bench to replace Jason Pope had a long-range effort saved, with the keeper not phased as he went down to his left to save the shot.
  • Throughout the majority of the second half chances were limited for both sides, with Hereford rarely winning aerial battles as the ball was pumped forward or crossed into the box.
  • In the dying stages of the game it was Nicholson who went closest for Hereford, but the keeper was equal to the left-footed effort.
