THE rumble of stomachs could be heard last night as Moor Park school hosted BBC Radio 4's culinary panel programme, The Kitchen Cabinet.

The program, which is presented by journalist, broadcaster and food critic Jay Rayner, is witty, fast moving and irreverent, but packed full of information that may well change the way you think about cooking.

Being based on the border of Herefordshire and Shropshire, two counties known for their ability to produce some of the finest homegrown produce in the country, Ludlow is a haven for local produce that is supported by a local market proud of its produce.

A selection of questions from the audience were fired at the panel, resulting in some fascinating and sometimes hilarious responses.

In addition, those in attendance joined in a rousing rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas complete with creative culinary lyrics.

Many attendees at the event were local producers and purveyors, some of whom are also ex-pupils of Moor Park.

The school itself sources most of its food quite deliberately from the local area and Moor Park children were also in the audience to join in the fun of recording the episode which will go to air on December 28.
