Music inspired by the world of literature comes to Herefordshire on Thursday, November 7 as The Bookshop Band performs at Fairfield High School.
The Bookshop Band, comprising cellist Beth Porter and her husband Ben Please, is a folk duo that's achieved a significant following in the UK and US. Beth is also a key member of Spell Songs, the musical companion piece to the hugely successful The Lost Words: A Spell Book commissioned by Allensmore-based JSL Productions.
Spell Songs recently enjoyed a sell-out UK tour with standing ovations at all venues, culminating on the Hay Festival main stage, and were invited to perform as part of the BBC Lost Words Prom at the Albert Hall.
The Bookshop Band will be performing at Fairfield High School in Peterchurch, accompanied by an exhibition of Jackie Morris prints that are on display for the first time. There’s also a raffle with some fabulous prizes to be won, including festival tickets, a Spell Songs CD and an original ink work by Jackie Morris.
