MEMBERS of Herefordshire Labour Party campaigned recently at their stall in High Town Hereford.

Labour's recent national conference decided to aim for net zero carbon emissions by 2030.

Members sought to highlight the policies adopted in their new Socialist Green Deal including a £6.2bn investment fund for renewable energy and green technologies, building charging networks for electric cars, retro-fitting council housing and public buildings to reduce their carbon footprint and higher standards for more sustainable new buildings.

Visitors to the stall identified their top issue with 36% opting for the climate emergency, perhaps unsurprisingly given the campaign theme and the protests in London and elsewhere.

A further 24% opted for the NHS, and 20% each for housing and Brexit.

A collection was also made for the local food bank.

Herefordshire Labour will be back with a stall in the spring or during a general election; which ever happens sooner.
