THE biggest weekend of the year in Ludlow is almost here.

For the past 25 years Ludlow Food Festival has championed the region’s finest produce and talent. To mark the UK’s original food festival’s Silver Jubilee, organisers have enlisted the help of an exciting new generation of local chefs, who are making waves on the nation’s food scene.

Visitors to Ludlow Castle this weekend are in for a tasty treat!

“Right from the very beginning, there was a strong impetus to showcase everything that contributed to Ludlow’s unique identity,” said Phil Maile, chairman of the Food Festival.

“As a small, rural market town, food production has always been incredibly important to the local economy.

“There was an overriding sense that this deserved to be championed. During the past 25 years, the festival has provided a valuable platform to present this to a much wider audience.

“At the heart of our success has been an ethos that real local food really matters.”

Visitors to the town centre and the festival that starts tomorrow and ends on Sunday are reminded that Ludlow will be busy.
