Children at Harvington C of E First and Nursery School are enjoying the opportunity to learn alongside their parents and grandparents, who have been going into school to take part in cooking, reading, arts and crafts.

The sessions are being provided by Worcestershire Family Learning Service. Katie Thorp, the school's Home School Link, says " We have been pleased to be able to offer this excellent opportunity to our families, to spend time together in school, learning new skills in a fun way. The children are very excited about their grown-ups coming into school and it helps them to understand that learning is for life."

Parents enjoy spending time doing activities with their children, that in their busy day to day lives, can often get squeezed out at home. Families were recently awarded a certificate on completion of the cooking course and are now looking forward to receiving the next awards when they complete the arts and crafts sessions. The school is already planning the courses they will offer next term, when they return after the Summer holidays, with computer skills being a popular request so far.
