The Old Stable Gallery in Corn Square, Leominster, is currently the setting for Utopia, an exhibition of artwork by Jonathan Sant.
Jonathan Sant grew up in the north Herefordshire countryside and is known locally for his fine art greetings cards of images of Herefordshire and the Welsh borders in his distinctive modern-Romantic style. His work captures local scenes and creatures that are part of our shared consciousness: generally in acrylic or mixed media on canvas or reclaimed board. His skies are often wide and improvised, his animals reflect our gaze, the anonymous denizens of his street scenes appear to be finding their way around. His love of ancient landscapes has led him to write and illustrate local books on the subjects of holy wells and standing stones.
Originals and prints are on sale at the exhibition as well as a selection of his ‘legitimate forgeries’ of Old Masters.
Utopia runs at The Old Stable Gallery in Corn Square until July 30.
