On Saturday, June 15 at 1pm, St Laurence's Church will be the setting for a Royal Birmingham Conservatoire organ recital featuring Callum Alger and Josh Roebuck.

This concert marks the strong and continuing relationship between St Laurence's, Ludlow and the Organ Department of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under its Head of Department, Daniel Moult.

Callum Alger is currently a fourth year undergraduate. Alongside his degree, he is the Acting Director of Music at The Collegiate Church of St Peter, Wolverhampton. In 2018, he was awarded first prize at both the inaugural IAO/RCO Organ Competition in Peterborough, and the inaugural Dame Gillian Weir Messiaen Competition in Birmingham. In September 2019, he will take up the prestigious position as Organ Scholar at Westminster Cathedral.

Josh Roebuck is now in his final undergraduate year and holds posts as the Organ Scholar of Worcester Cathedral and Birmingham Town Hall and Symphony Hall, and came highly commended in the Northern Ireland International Organ Competition in 2017.

The programme will feature works by Elgar, J.S.Bach, César Franck and Durufle.

Seating is unreserved and doors will open 30 minutes before the performance. Entry is free, and there will be a retiring collection.
