THE team at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms are celebrating a milestone this year.

The centre has been run by local charity, Grow Cook Learn for the last five years.

Their mission is to make it an education and training centre for food-related skills, a visitor attraction linking food, history and landscape in the Shropshire Hills and a leisure resource for visitors and local residents.

Grow Cook Learn are passionate about people appreciating the wonderful outdoor world around them and how what they eat is connected to that world.

Following the successful event last year, the charity are running their Shropshire Food Fair again on Saturday, August 3 and are inviting local food and drink providers to exhibit.

The fair will be for local food and drink producers so showcase and sell their products as a celebration of all that the Shropshire Hills area has to offer in terms of culinary delights.

Centre manager, Grant Wilson, says "With over 100,000 visitors a year, our centre is a hub of activity for residents of the local community as well as holiday makers that are interested in the local landscape and the wonderful food and drink it has to offer. The event was very well received last year and we had a whole host of fantastic food and drink on offer to try and buy. This is a fantastic opportunity for producers to showcase their products and reach out to a wide audience."

At just £25 per stall for the whole day, if you are interested in exhibiting, contact the centre on 01588676060 or email jade.marriott-lodge@growcooklearn.co.uk for more information.

Application forms should be in by Monday, July 1.
