AS the weather improves and everywhere turns green again, the team at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre are celebrating spring in their Onny Meadows as they get ready for some Easter fun.

The staff will be celebrating with a week of photos on their Facebook page as the meadows spring in to life once again. Entrance to the centre and meadows is free so visitors can enjoy the walks and sights for as long as they like, any day of the week.

They will also have the Easter holidays jam packed with fun as children become "Remarkable Romans" for the holidays.

Become a Romano-Britain living in the vicinity of the fourth largest city. Make a groma and see if you can set out a straight Roman road. Try a snack and try eating it lying on a 'couch'. Plan a banquet and do your maths homework with Roman numeral on a tablet. Test your knowledge of what foods were introduced here by the Romans. See if you are worthy of being a citizen - can you properly fold a toga? The Remarkable Romans, Easter holiday activity will be held from April 15-19 and April 22-26 from 1pm - 2.30pm, £4 per accompanied 4-11 year old, booking advised.

There will also be a Remarkable Roman Cookery activity on April 16 from 10am - 11.30am.

Bake a Libum - the sweet cheesecake sometimes offered to household spirits. Cook an egg dish - the most popular of all Roman appetizer ingredients and pottage their main food. Finish with a date and nut sweet. £7.50 per accompanied 4-11 year old, booking essential.

Finally, the centre will offer an Easter Crafts Drop In on April 19 from 11am - 4pm.

Spend Good Friday with the team at the Discovery Centre trying your hand at fun, seasonal crafts; from 3D eggs to sheep with fluffy paint, yellow fork painted chicks to paper rabbits.
