A MEMORIAL to the fallen men and women of the last century is planned near Knighton on Teme Church.
The idea of a “Forces Memorial Bench” was put forward by Emma and Ian Mapp and land has been donated by a local farmer.
The cost of the bench will be paid for by fundraising events such as quizzes at the Talbot Hotel in Newnham Bridge and donations.
Chris Dell, who represents Lindridge Ward which includes Knighton on Teme Parish on Malvern Hills District Council, is supporting the project by allocating part of this year’s ward budget to it.
Last year was special because it marked the climax of events to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War that came to an end in November 1918.
