The Britten Singers, with their founder/director Pamela White, are preparing for their next concert, which is a programme of Advent and Christmas music and readings to be performed at St. Mary's Church, Caynham near Ludlow on Saturday, December 1.

The singers, now in their 43rd year are also busy with preparations for their spring concert. During these years not only have they performed in many venues in the county and beyond and also raised thousands of pounds for charity, they have performed in France, Norway and The Czech Republic.

In 2020 they will be celebrating 45 years since their founding and Pamela White has commissioned Roderick Williams, well known as a wonderful baritone, but also a composer, to write a piece for them. She has already commissioned several composers over the years to write pieces for the group to add to their very extensive repertoire.

The group held a workshop with Roderick Williams in which they worked on music by mainly British composers, so they are greatly looking forward to learning a new piece by him. The group are looking for sponsors for this new music and Pamela White would be interested to hear from anyone who would like to sponsor this commission.
