STAFF, residents and guests at Hagley Place Care Home in Ludlow were delighted when long time visitor Tom Smart brought in examples of his late wife's handiwork, "She was a fantastic knitter and great at crafts" Tom said.

Tom has been coming to Hagley Place for a few years to visit a variety of friends and recently mentioned to the knit and natter group that his wife was an avid knitter, Tom was asked if he would be able to bring in something she had done and on November 22, he brought in a jumper that his wife had made for him and a height measurement panel she had made for the children.

Nicky Bowler said, "What a wonderful keepsake and such fantastic skill! What a lovely way to keep a part of someone close to you after they have passed away."

Claire Harris, GM, said, "Our knit and natter group is not just for knitters, it's for everyone to come together and share stories, memories and experiences with each other. We want everyone to feel a sense of community and belonging and we would like to thank Tom for sharing this wonderful memory with us all."

Hagley Place hosts a knit and natter group every Monday and Thursday morning at 11am and the public are welcome to attend.
