POLICE have launched an investigation after a man was found dead in the street in Rowley Regis this morning (Sunday November 18).

Officers were called by a member of the public to a location behind George Avenue, shortly after midnight, after reports that a man’s body had been discovered.

The 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and police have been carrying out house to house enquires.

A police cordon remained in place this morning and Detective Inspector Caroline Corfield from Force CID, said: “At this stage it is unclear how this man came to receive these injuries and we are working tirelessly to establish the tragic circumstances around his death. 

“I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and saw or heard anything suspicious to get in touch with me personally as soon as they can, quoting log number 46 of 18 November."
