CLEOBURY Mortimer Volleyball Club’s Ladies team got their season off to a flying start as they taught Birmingham Met a lesson with a 3-0 straight sets win in the West Midlands Cup.
They recovered from a slightly rocky start to win a close first set 26-24 with some great serving from Melissa Didlick and strong attacking from Katherine Howells and Rebekah Gallagher.
They cruised to a 25-12 win in the second set as Zan Matuszewska defended well while setter Sip Gallagher utilise her attackers Rosie Millichamp and Laura Edwards well.
And they edged another tight set in the third, winning 25-23 to clinch the match with some clever corner shots from Ellie Phelps.
