Cardiff Winds, a group of five of Britain’s leading woodwind players, will perform at the Lion Ballroom, Leominster on Sunday, September 16 at 3pm. This combination of flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon and horn produces a range of tonal colours, which makes for a concert of great variety. The group’s fascinating programme covers music from the Classical and Romantic periods right up to the present day with works by highly respected living composers.
Included in the programme is an ingenious arrangement of a Schubert string quartet, Three Shanties by the leading 20th century British composer Malcolm Arnold, The Banks of Green Willow by George Butterworth and more.
Tickets at £12 (students £6) available from the Tourist Information Centre, 11 Corn Square or call 01568 616460.
