A SEX offender from Bromsgrove has been convicted of making indecent images of children, some showing children being raped.

The jury reached unanimous guilty verdicts, finding Jonathon Ozanne guilty of three counts of making indecent images of children and one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving an animal following a trial at Worcester Crown Court.

The 57-year-old, of Finstall Road, Bromsgrove, had denied making the images at categories A, B and C - category A being the most serious of the three, showing penetrative sexual activity between adults and children.

The images were downloaded between January 31, 2009 and March 15, 2015.

Recorder John Benson QC made an interim sexual harm prevention order which will run until September 8. It restricts Ozanne's use of electronic devices and prohibits him from deleting his browsing history.

The recorder told Ozanne that count one for category A images was 'a serious matter' with a starting point in the sentencing guidelines of immediate custody.

He adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report to be prepared by the probation service.

Recorder Benson warned Ozanne that the adjournment did not indicate the nature of the sentence he would ultimately receive.

He adjourned the case until September 7 when Ozanne is expected to be sentenced.

Ozanne was granted bail until that hearing on condition he does not have any unsupervised contact with any person under the age of 16, other than is unavoidable in the course of everyday life.

He must not use any software capable of granting anonymity or access to the dark web.
