MEMBERS of the Tenbury Wells WI were in for a treat at their recent meeting held on April 9.

They had a short business meeting before welcoming Hilary Brown from the Bothy in Eardiston, Worcestershire.

Hilary makes and sells hanging baskets. She told members about the best plants to plant in baskets and how to make up and care for them.

She also had plants for members to buy to plant in their own baskets. Hilary took orders and sold some baskets she had with her to members.

The competition was won by Barbara Osborne with a wonderful embroidered picture and the flower of the month was won by Maggie Downes.

The Tenbury Wells Women's Institute meets on the second Monday of each month at 2.15pm in the Methodist hall in Cross Street. New members are always welcome - phone Lynda on 01584 810702 for more information.

The next meeting will be held on May 14 which will be the Annual Meeting. Members will discuss this year's resolutions with an adviser from the Worcestershire Federation and vote in the officers for next year. This will be followed by entertainment from Anne Bembow.

Future events include a straw craft workshop in the Methodist hall on April 23, a visit to Cob Country Park on June 5 for lunch and a walk, a boat trip on July 17 and strawberry tea in August.
