ELEVEN members and one guest managed to make it through the snow and ice to attend New Radnor WI's meeting on March 5.

President, Alison, welcomed everyone present and proceeded to inform members of upcoming events, including a trip to the RHS Spring Show in Malvern with Dolau WI and joining neighbouring Old Radnor and Gladestry branches in celebrating 100 years of women's suffrage.

Debbie Amer encouraged people to think of participating in a nationwide WI project to reverse the loss of trees in the urban environment. Four volunteers are attending a meeting to find out more.

Alison then demonstrated Somerset quilting which she described as an easy technique that beginners could master. Everyone made sample squares whilst drinking tea and eating delicious cake. Everyone was thrilled with their results and took them home.

The next meeting is on April 11 at 7.30pm in the New Radnor Village Hall.
