SINCE its re-opening in September last year, following a successful bid for a grant from the BLF which enabled full refurbishment to be undertaken, Stretton Sugwas Village Hall has gained a new lease of life.

Despite the loss of one or two of its previous long-term users who found other premises whilst the hall was closed, new ones have taken their place and it is now home to regular exercise classes, gentle meditation and tai chi, Brownies, yoga, jive classes and table tennis.

The ever-popular Lunch Club continues to take place every 4th Wednesday of the month (indeed, so popular that there is now a waiting list for members), as does the fun whist drive every last Friday (next one on Good Friday, March 30).

The coffee morning, usually held every 2nd Thursday of each month, continues to grow and includes a bring and buy table, with various stalls on special occasions such as Christmas and Easter (the next one being on the 3rd Thursday of this month on March 15).

As well as the main hall, there is a meeting room for groups of up to about 15 people, with a clinic room attached, so that it can also be used for therapy treatments, e.g. massage, reflexology, chiropody, etc. Wifi is also available in both the main hall and meeting room.
