ON February 11 at Storridge Village Hall, eight teams of four donned caps and aprons and raced with their pancake in their pans, tossing the pancakes as they went. The event raised £350 for Breast Cancer Haven in Hereford, the charity that supports women through their breast cancer treatment.

Moira Starkey has raised thousands of pounds for Breast Cancer Haven since the centre opened in Hereford in 2004 through events such as the pancake race, the sale of her homemade preserves and even by completing her first marathon at the age of 83.

To date Moira has raised more than £15,000 for Breast Cancer Haven, Hereford.

Breast Cancer Haven supports women and their families via a network of six welcoming centres around the UK and through an expanding network of other services. Breast Cancer Haven offer advice on practical things like money and work, help combatting stress, exhaustion and nausea, advice on healthy eating and exercise.
