PHILIP Dunne, MP for Ludlow, welcomed food and drink producers from across the south of the county to Parliament as part of a Shropshire Producers Day.

Shropshire Producers Day, organised by Shrewsbury MP Daniel Kawczynski, was an opportunity for MPs, Peers and staff to get know some of the great produce on offer from Shropshire.

Food and drink makes a major contribution to the economy of Ludlow and south Shropshire with a catalogue of award winning businesses serving the sector, including brewers and ingredient manufacturers.

Mr Dunne welcomed the Ludlow Food & Drink Festival alongside producers from the south of the county, including Hobsons Brewery, Chilton Gin and the Fairtrade coffee project from Bridgnorth Endowed School.

“It was great to welcome some of South Shropshire’s best producers to Parliament to show off the great food and drink offer available in the Ludlow Constituency, and across Shropshire more widely,” said Philip Dunne.

“This was a well-supported event, ably organised by my good colleague Daniel Kawczynski, and all those I spoke to had found it a very worthwhile trip.”
