On Sunday, February 11 at 3pm the popular Bochmann String Trio with acclaimed flautist Catherine Handley will play a programme of sublimely beautiful music at the Lion Ballroom in Leominster. This concert features works by four of the world’s greatest composers.The first and last works on the programme were originally written as string quartets by Haydn and Schubert and have been rearranged for flute quartet by the much respected Malvern-resident composer and arranger Derek Smith, who has also written a short original piece for the concert entitled Rondoletto. Also included is Beethoven’s Serenade in D Op 8, the wonderful Mozart Flute Quartet in D K285 and a short work by Schubert, his String Trio movement in B flat D471.
