LUDLOW Town Council is going to have to decide what to do about its budget for the coming year.

A major factor in the decision will be what it is decides to do about attempting to take on some of the services that are being cut back by Shropshire Council.

The Town Council has been holding a consultation with residents in a bid to determine what people consider to be the most important priorities.

If it is decided to take on significant new services then this could result in a major increase in the Town Council element of the Council Tax.

An increase of more than 20 per cent has been suggested as has the possibility of additional staff being required if more services are taken on..

The Town Council is currently responsible for a range of services including public toilets.
