CHILDREN in Tenbury and the Teme Valley have been encouraged to spend at least some of the Christmas and New Year holiday reading.

Tenbury Library was taking part in the winter mini reading challenge that has been designed to get children interested in books.

The Winter Mini Challenge, began on Monday, December 11 and finishes on Friday, January 12.

It is run through the Summer Reading Challenge website.

To take part, children are asked to choose and read three books over the winter holidays, and leave a short book review of each on their Summer Reading Challenge profile.

Once the challenge is completed, children will unlock a virtual badge and a special Star Wars certificate which they can print off and keep.
