WILD birds in Ludlow and south Shropshire and in Tenbury and the Teme Valley have had their supply of wild food disrupted badly by early snowfall and icy conditions.
Experts from the RSPB say that people can help birds by putting out food and just as importantly making sure that there is access to clean water free from ice as bathing plays a very important part in keep feathers clean and healthy.
However, birds can become dependent upon food that is put out and so it is important that if it is done then it is done regularly.
Care should be taken about allowing seeds to drop on the ground.
