TENBURY Museum is looking ahead.

A public consultation is underway about the future of the museum.

This includes a move from its present location, tucked away down an alleyway in Cross Street. The existing site is considered to be too small, too far from the town centre and lacking in essential facilities.

At present, the museum is in what was at one time the first Free School in Tenbury and a move to new larger premises nearer the town centre is being explored.

On option being considered is a move to the old fire station on the site of the new Tesco store, although other sites are being evaluated.

Another option that is being considered is linking with the Tenbury History Society.

There is an on-going public consultation into the future of the museum and questionnaires are available at Tenbury Library.

People will also be able to express their views at the Museum Society’s annual general meeting to be help at The Pump Rooms in Tenbury on Thursday, January 19 at 7.30pm.

This meeting is open to the general public for the discussions, but only members of the society may vote on any decisions.
