A CHARITY set up in memory of a young man from Tenbury who died in a tragic accident at work is teeing up for its biggest fundraising event of the year.

Adam, who was 27 at the time, was killed in a tragic accident at work in 2007, leaving a young son.

The Adam Millichip Foundation are looking forward to continuing their ever popular and successful golf day.

Now in its seventh year, the charity has raised just over £50,000 just from the golf day.

The foundation provides financial support and assistance to disabled people wishing to participate in sports to improve the quality of their lives.

After so many years, the charity golf day is now recognised as one of the biggest charity golf days in the Midlands, more than 250 golfers take part on the day and it is a great value-for-money event for golfers of all abilities.

The foundation has also secured a huge scoop by announcing a new main sponsor. Condor Airlines, who are part of the Thomas Cook group, will support the day and the trustees are delighted.

“To secure Condor Airlines as a main sponsor this year is a huge boost for us,” said Mark Benbow for the charity.

“We believe the day is a sponsors marketing dream event and is not only recognised locally but now nationally.”

A “tented village” at the back of the 18th green will also house a sponsors area where companies can showcase their products on the day.

All tee times for the event on Friday, May 6 are now sold out but, if anyone would like to help as a volunteer or help with donating any auction or raffle prizes, the foundation would be delighted.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available and start from £100, for more information contact Mark Benbow on 07971677278 or markb@adammillichipfoundation.org
