PEOPLE in Clun are recovering after a hectic few days as the carnival came to town.
The town in the south Shropshire hills was full of activity during a week of events that reached their climax at the weekend.
Many imaginative floats made their way through the town including pirates, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, a ‘deep sea disco’ and a ‘Wonderland Float’ that took first prize.
The Clun Ramblers put their best feet forward and made an appearance as did Carnival Queen, 17-year-old Jess Bright and her entourage.
There was a wheelbarrow race through Waterloo Ford that resulted in at least one drenching, live music and the five mile ‘Clun Canter.’
Knighton Town Silver Band led the procession through the town. Visitors could watch vintage vehicles and a bird of prey demonstration as well as look in on an arts and crafts exhibition.
