THE Kyrebook Daycentre in Tenbury is opening its doors on Friday.
Kyrebrook is a not-for-profit social enterprise that offers day care facilities for elderly and vulnerable adults.
“Our aim is to facilitate friendship, socialisation and activities for those who may otherwise be lonely or isolated, or who want to remain active and independent,” said Ria Baxter from the centre.
It also provides respite for carers and family looking after someone with needs.
Kyrebook is currently open two days a week but it hopes that as demand for its services grow this can be extended during 2015.
The open day is to showcase the facility, meet staff and also raise funds that will secure the future for Kyrebrook.
The hope is that facilities and services can be expanded. It is hoped that people who may be interested in volunteering will also take a look.
There will also be an exhibition by some of those with links to the centre including Age UK, Tenbury Transport Trust and providers of personal services to the elderly.
