A CHRISTMAS celebration was staged in Ludlow on Monday where members of the South Shropshire Mennonite Youth Choir performed a variety of traditional songs.
The event was organised for the Ludlow Sight Loss Opportunity and Macular Group, organised by Shropshire Rural Community Council and was held in St Peter's Church Hall, in Henley Road, Ludlow.
Shropshire RCC's newly appointed development officer for Sight & Hearing Loss Support, Rachel Whitney, said: "The Ludlow group meets on the second Monday of each month to provide information, friendship and support for people with visual loss and this concert was an ideal opportunity for others to find out what the group is all about.
"The choir was simply spellbinding with the singing and harmony being exceptional, and we also got a chance to chat to the young members, who are currently visiting this country from the USA."
Choir member Jesse Everly, added: " We all love to sing and were delighted to be given the opportunity to perform for members of this group as part of our visit to this beautiful town and scenic area of your country."
Further information on Sight Loss Opportunity groups can be obtained from Shropshire RCC on 01743 342168 and the next meeting is planned for January 12, between 11am and 1pm at St Peter's Church.
