MORE money has been allocated to mend the broken roads of Ludlow and south Shropshire.
A further £2 million has been allocated taking the total spending on pothole repairs in Shropshire this year to £4 million on top of the normal allocation on road maintenance.
Philip Dunne MP has welcomed the announcement of £2,243,888 of new funding in Shropshire to tackle potholes.
In total £4,027,006 ?of additional funding for Shropshire has been announced for this year, on top of the annual roads maintenance budget.
“This is great news for all road users in South Shropshire, where potholes can be a real problem for drivers and cyclists,” said Philip Dunne.
“Over £2 million of new funding will go a long way to dealing with the menace of potholes on Shropshire's roads.
“Investing in Britain’s roads and infrastructure is a key part of this Government’s long-term economic plan to secure a better future for Britain. By fixing Britain’s roads the Government is supporting local businesses, and making life that bit easier for the hardworking people in South Shropshire who rely on them to get around.”
